Local radio is bigger than geography
A local station can be defined by participation, language, and community attention as much as by the reach of its signal.
Internet streaming gives a neighborhood station a global signal, but reach does not erase locality. A station can remain accountable to the people around its studio, the languages of its city, and the scenes that give it a reason to exist.
Local is a relationship
A station feels local when people can take part: as hosts, guests, volunteers, callers, artists, or listeners whose concerns shape the schedule. That participation matters more than whether every track was recorded nearby.
For a distant listener, the same station offers a connection to a place without becoming theirs to define. Listening can be open; local identity still belongs to the community making the radio.
Mark locality honestly
In a personal library, Local should describe the listener's own context, rather than a universal property of the stream. A Zurich station may be local for one person and a valuable distant window for another.
