Remove a station from the Soundbox catalogue
How to ask for a radio station to be taken out of the names Soundbox registers with Alexa.
Soundbox registers the names of stations its listeners have saved with Alexa, so that asking for a station by name reaches it instead of reaching nothing. If you run a station and would rather not be listed, use the form below and it will be taken out.
What is registered, and what is not
Names only. The list Amazon receives holds the station name and nothing else — no stream address, no website, no listener numbers, nothing about who listened or when. Its only job is to turn a spoken name into an identifier, and Soundbox itself is what plays the audio afterwards.
Soundbox does not rebroadcast, record, or insert advertising. A listener who asks for your station is connected to the stream you publish, the same as opening it in a browser.
Asking for removal
Give the station name as Alexa says it, or the stream address if you have it — the address is exact, the name is easier. You do not need a Soundbox account and you will not be asked to make one.
Requests are read by a person, so there may be a day or two before you hear back. Once a removal is granted the name stops being registered, the entry already sent to Amazon is withdrawn, and the stream will not be listed again if a listener adds it later.
