Privacy at Soundbox
How Soundbox handles personal libraries, public content, and limited privacy-conscious site measurement.
Your library stays private
Your station library, listening history, account settings, and Alexa setup are private to your Soundbox account. The public site is separate: guides and station introductions never show what an individual has saved or played.
Soundbox does not sell personal data or use your library activity to create advertising profiles.
Public content uses public sources
Soundbox may publish editorial profiles of independent stations using information those stations make public. These profiles do not identify listeners or draw on private library activity.
Starter stations offered to new listeners are a public collection. They are separate from every personal library.
Station catalogue and removal
Soundbox sends station names — never listener information — to Alexa so that a saved station can be found by voice.
If you operate a station and do not want its name included, use the catalogue removal page. A person reviews every request before the listing changes.
Limited site measurement
Soundbox records visits by day, hour, and country to understand use and keep the site reliable, together with which page was opened and the website someone arrived from — the site's name only, never the full address it linked from. To estimate daily unique visitors, it creates a keyed, pseudonymous value from an IP address and browser information. That value changes every day, cannot be used to follow someone across days, and is removed after 90 days.
This measurement does not use advertising cookies or create advertising profiles. Like any website, Soundbox receives technical request information needed to deliver the service; the application does not retain raw IP addresses for its visitor count.
